Reach Beyond at PALFINGER as a Product Support Technician, based in Council Bluffs, IA supporting our distribution partners, customers, and internal teams with technical service and installation expertise. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource, providing troubleshooting support, maintaining technical documentation, and delivering guidance on PALFINGER Service Cranes, Crane Bodies, Compressors, Liftgates, and related products. Working closely with Engineering, Service, Spare Parts, and distribution partners, you will help drive customer satisfaction, product performance, and operational excellence. This position reports to the Service Manager and offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise while making a meaningful impact across the North American region.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external service inquiries, delivering exceptional customer support by phone and email.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues while supporting dealers, service centers, and distribution partners with service and installation questions.
  • Develop, maintain, and update service documentation, technical publications, service bulletins, and online service information.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and cross-functional teams to support new product development, product improvements, and ongoing service initiatives.
  • Train distribution partners on installation, operation, maintenance, and service best practices while supporting parts and service request management.

Your Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate degree in a technical or business-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of customer service experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or technical support environment.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems supporting complex equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical specifications, schematics, diagrams, and installation manuals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, CRM-based support environments, and the ability to travel within North America; fluency in German, Spanish, or French is a plus.
