Join PALFINGER in Council Bluffs, IA as a Supplier Quality Engineer, overseeing the quality and development of North American suppliers across stamped, bent, welded, machined, and painted components. Reporting to the Senior Regional Quality Manager NAM & LATAM, you’ll bring your expertise in welding, painting, and general manufacturing to support supplier development, provide training, and ensure alignment with PALFINGER’s high standards. _____Your Responsibilities
- Oversee quality and development of North American suppliers across stamped, bent, welded, machined, and painted components, including part approval and supplier audits.
- Support supplier development and provide training on PALFINGER products, processes, and procedures to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Serve as a technical resource for suppliers and PALFINGER facilities, offering guidance, troubleshooting, and product reviews.
- Monitor and resolve supplier claims (NCRs) and provide input on quality strategy to the Procurement team.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams, support cost-saving initiatives, and travel to suppliers or PALFINGER facilities as needed.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred, with a strong quality and commercial mindset, plus 2–3 years of hands-on technical experience in industrial manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge and experience with Quality Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA), auditing, root cause/corrective action, and supplier or customer interactions; ISO 9001:2015 experience is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office; SAP knowledge preferred; fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish) is advantageous.
- Proactive problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement, team collaboration, and achieving organizational goals.
- Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks effectively, handle conflicts professionally, and travel frequently (50–75%, including internationally).
