PALFINGER is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to support our procurement operations in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring materials availability, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost efficiencies across the business. Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders and maintaining accurate purchasing data
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving on-time delivery and resolving supply issues
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, contracts, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to ensure material availability aligns with demand
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, including supplier consolidation and cost reduction programs

Your Qualifications:

 

  • 5–7 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience negotiating supplier contracts, particularly with metals and/or steel
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving cost savings and optimizing supplier performance
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and MRP or related systems, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
