For our Global Business Services Center, situated in Sofia, we are looking for motivated specialist to join us in the role of:

SAP ABAP Developer (f/m/d)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Build business logic on the modern ABAP stack — CDS views, the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and ABAP OO — and deliver the matching Fiori Elements applications driven by CDS annotations and RAP behaviour
  • Design and implement integration: OData V2/V4 services, RAP business events and event-driven patterns, alongside the classic interface world (RFC, IDoc, SOAP) that still runs the business
  • Drive our Clean Core strategy in practice — choose the right extensibility option (released APIs, BAdIs, developer extensibility, side-by-side on BTP), keep new developments upgrade-stable, and modernise grown Z-developments step by step
  • Own code quality, security and governance: ATC checks, code reviews, unit testing (ABAP Unit / TDD) and secure ABAP coding (authorization checks, injection-safe dynamic SQL)
  • Use AI as part of your daily development work — AI-assisted coding, analysis of existing custom code and documentation are already established here; you apply these tools productively and review their output critically, and you work with business departments and functional consultants to turn requirements into fit-to-standard solutions

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Strong expertise in modern ABAP development: ABAP OO, CDS, RAP, ABAP Cloud / released APIs and ABAP Unit — plus enough experience with classic ABAP to work confidently in a grown S/4HANA system
  • Solid understanding of Clean Core and S/4HANA extensibility — you know the difference between key-user, developer and side-by-side extensibility, and you can argue why one fits a given requirement better than another
  • Practical knowledge of interface and API design: OData service modelling, event-driven integration, and clean API contracts between SAP and non-SAP systems
  • Good command of Fiori Elements and the annotation model, together with an understanding of how to build cloud-ready applications — decoupled, API-first, upgrade-safe; freestyle SAPUI5 and SAP Build are a welcome plus, not a requirement
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, SAP Joule for Developers) and a healthy scepticism towards its results — combined with code governance and secure coding practice: ATC and custom code checks, SAP authorization concepts in coding, code reviews, test-driven development, clean code, and an agile way of working
