The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager will be responsible for planning and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment for the entire PUSA organization. This role reports to the PUSA Managing Director and offers a competitive compensation package and opportunity for on-going career growth.
_____Your Responsibilities:
- Implement, manage and monitor environmental, health, and safety programs for the Palfinger USA entity.
- Partner with the management and employees to instill a culture of safety awareness and responsibility across various PUSA facilities and field service operations.
- Conduct safety and environment audits, document findings, and facilitate improvement plans.
- Conduct safety training, accident investigations and implement plans to proactively eliminate unsafe practices and reduce worker’s compensation claims.
- Ensure local management, employees, and site safety committees are adhering to corporate standards, actively communicating to all plant personnel regarding HSE related issues and develop the appropriate corrective action plans.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required.
- Work closely with the Human Resources Department, Regional/Global HSE, and, where appropriate, the Third-Party Administrators (TPA), to review and monitor workers compensation claims costs and develop plans to minimize active claims.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, preferably Environmental, Occupational Safety or Industrial Engineering.
- Additional training in EPA and OSHA programs, including Train the Trainer, OSHA 30, DOT, RCRA, Haz Mat is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ Environmental Health and Safety experience in an industrial manufacturing and field-based service environment preferred.
- Fluent in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook.
- Ability to thoroughly investigate circumstances surrounding accidents / injuries, document findings factually and implement measurable improvement plans.
- Must have good listening skills and earn the support of the workforce.
- Must be able to freely communicate concerns and issues to all levels of leadership, keeping communication open and sincere.
- 75% travel is required.
